Advice and guidance service expansion announced A major expansion of the controversial advice and guidance system was announced today. The Department of Health said the changes would help keep 2 million patients out of hospital. Practices are paid 20 for each referral placed through the system, which offers screening of proposed referrals. In January, the Government promised to invest 80 million in an attempt to double the use of advice and guidance.
