Each morning, the doctors came round to the bedside, barely taking one look at my desperate face, before finally making brief eye contact and clearing their throats. I explained that my hip and shoulder were dislocated, a common complication of EDS, and that I needed to swap sides. “We’re just starting our rounds now”, they reassured me.
