Others are transferred to inpatient hospice centers. Home hospice is never an option for someone with no family, no friends, and, often, no home. The decision to begin hospice brought guilt, grief, and relief. Gunshot wounds, tuberculosis, amputations, protein-calorie malnutrition. I do not know if we all die alone.
