The start of 2021 saw me seeing through my birthday, too poorly to care, and unable to see my own family whom I’d been unable to see or hug for many months. It saw me making the 160 mile transfer trip via ambulance to the next hospital, where I would spend many more months. I was supposed to qualify as a Doctor in the summer of 2021.

On the next ward round, I asked to see someone – 7 months into my hospital admission and I needed to address my mental wellbeing. From then on, there were occasions where I had to remove my hearing-aids during the ward-round. I had nothing left.

We’ve all fallen to our knees and crumbled. Every single one of us. But I still smiled it off. Nor was 2020.
